Biodiversity & Secret Grottos
Guided by an eco-conscious team, you will explore sea-forests of Posidonia and underwater limestone formations. We anchor at the Vervece Rock and the 'Champagne Grotto,' using professional-grade masks and fins to observe marine life in total clarity. This is an educational and sensory journey through Italy's most protected waters.

Itinerary

Starting location:: Marina di Stabia
The Queen's Lagoon (Queen Joan's Baths): Our journey begins at this natural emerald pool framed by the ruins of a 1st-century BC Roman villa. Here, we perform a "warm-up" snorkeling session in shallow, calm waters, exploring how the sea has reclaimed ancient Roman stonework.
Vervece Rock (The Underwater Sanctuary): We navigate to this integral marine protected islet. As a sanctuary of biodiversity, it’s one of the best spots in the Mediterranean to observe large schools of fish and the submerged statue of the Madonna, the guardian of local sailors.
The Cliffs of Massa Lubrense: Cruising along the coast of Massa Lubrense, we observe the rugged beauty of the limestone cliffs. Your guide will point out hidden inlets and historical watchtowers that have guarded this coastline for centuries.
Cala di Mitigliano (Freshwater Springs): Anchor in this secluded bay, famous for its crystalline clarity. This is a unique snorkeling spot where cold underground freshwater springs flow into the sea, creating a fascinating "halocline" effect and refreshing temperature shifts.
Punta Campanella (The Edge of the Myth): We reach the wild, vertical tip of the peninsula. Here, the currents of the two gulfs meet, bringing rich nutrients that attract a wide variety of marine life. It is the most iconic and powerful landscape of the entire Reserve.
Minerva's Grotto: Located right beneath the ancient site of the Temple of Athena/Minerva, this sea cave offers a mystical snorkeling experience. The play of light on the rocks and the historical significance of the site make this a highlight for "swimmers and dreamers."
Ieranto Bay (The Heart of the Reserve): Our final destination is the FAI-protected Ieranto Bay. In this "Sanctuary of Silence," we enjoy an extended snorkeling session among Posidonia meadows. Afterward, we conclude with our Organic 'Marenna' ritual before a scenic cruise back to Sorrento.
