Sailing season in Athens would start in late March and end in early November. In the summer months, you’ll have the hottest weather but this is the high tourist season in Athens, which means large crowds and expensive prices on boats. What type of boat is best for a private yacht rental in Athens?

If you’re having trouble deciding which boat to choose for your Athens yacht rental, it’s important to think about the length of your time on board. If you only want to sail for a few days we’d recommend a daily charter such as a RIB or a motorboat. These vessels are great because they go faster than others, allowing you to see everything on your bucket list in no time. However, if you’re planning to spend a week or more on board you’ll need a more spacious vessel which includes amenities to me your stay on board more comfortable. Catamarans and yachts are good options to accommodate larger groups of people for longer stays on the water.

If you’re keen on a more authentic sailing experience, you might want to try a sailboat, but be advised that they are unstable vessels and tend to sway on the water. This means that they can be difficult to navigate so unless you’re an experienced sailor, we don’t recommend renting a sailboat.
