Thailand is characterised by a tropical savanna climate which has both a wet and dry season. In order to have the smoothest sailing conditions and the least amount of rainfall possible, it’s best to visit in January, July, August, November and December. The average temperature in these months is around 32°C, perfect for sailing and cooling off in the water!
Sailing isn’t only for people with a licence or those who have experience on the water. At Oceans Evasion we make sailing accessible by providing our renters with the option of renting a yacht with a skipper on board! Skippers are licenced professionals who will handle everything from navigating the vessel to docking and anchoring, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. If you’re interested in sailing and would like to learn a thing or two, they can show you some tricks and if you’re lucky, they might even let you take the helm! But perhaps the best part about having a skipper on board your boat is the fact that they are usually locals, and can show you the best parts of Thailand you won’t have read about online. For a more all-inclusive and personalised experience with your yacht rental in Thailand, choose one with a skipper!
With over 3,000 kilometres of coastline, there are so many incredible coastal treasures to explore on a Thai sailing excursion. Here are some of our favourite places to add to your Thailand itinerary.
If you’re looking to rent a yacht in Thailand it can be difficult to choose the perfect vessel for your sailing holiday. We’d recommend a daily charter such as a motorboat or a RIB for a holiday of less than a week, and a weekly charter like a yacht or a catamaran for a longer holiday. If you are an avid sailor and you like a challenge, a sailboat is a good option for the authentic sailing experience of navigating the waves. However because sailboats tend to be unstable vessels, we don’t recommend them for novice sailors or people who are pregnant or prone to seasickness. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find the perfect boat for your sailing trip on Oceans Evasion!
