This Dufour 450 GL is a large, modern cruiser, dating from the Felci (ICE Yachts)/Del Pardo (Grand Soleil) era, and its design is evident in its lines, with a low coachroof and clean lines. It is derived from the 445 GL, itself a descendant of the 455 GL, cousins of the Dufour 44 and 45. The sleek rigging and appendages, along with the reasonable wetted surface area, ensure surprising sailing performance for such a large cruiser. The gennaker and asymmetric spinnaker allow for sailing even in light winds. The oversized engine and saildrive make it very quiet under power, and, combined with the large rudder, facilitate harbor maneuvers. The electric windlass, anchor, and generously sized chain make anchoring easier, while the 2.8m dinghy and its outboard motor allow for exploring the surrounding area. The Bimini and sprayhood make it usable in all weather conditions: sun, breeze, rain. The large cockpit with a folding table allows the crew to gather comfortably, and the large, tilting transom provides easy access to the sea. An inflatable paddleboard is included. The layout is modern, with two comfortable aft cabins and two double cabins forward, as well as three bathrooms with hot water: one with a toilet and separate shower, and one combined bathroom with a separate shower. Two families with children can easily spend a pleasant week there. The saloon has ample seating for everyone, and the large galley provides plenty of room for the crew to enjoy delicious meals. In the summer, it is moored in the port of Crouesty: the islands of Quiberon Bay and the Gulf of Morbihan are directly accessible. It is wintered on the Vilaine River, which is itself a beautiful destination for the beginning or end of a cruise, or for waiting out a weather front. It can then be positioned at the waiting pontoon downstream of the lock. It benefits from the unlimited stopover passport: all ports of the Morbihan Ports Company are included without limit (maximum 2 consecutive nights, excluding Houat/Hoedic) as well as 2 stopovers outside the company's network of ports. Rentals during peak season run from Saturday 5 pm to the following Saturday 2 pm; assistance is available if desired and feasible.
