Why should you charter a yacht in Sardinia with a skipper?
You will have the possibility to rent a boat in Sardinia with or without a skipper. The experienced captain will be able to show you the best spots along the coast of Sardinia and take you to places off the beaten track. If you’re longing for a greater sense of freedom, it is also possible to hire a bareboat. This is more suitable for those who wish to plan their own itineraries.
What do we offer in Sardinia?
We have a wide range of different boats available to hire in Sardinia with a majority being able to hold up to 10 passengers on board. If you wish for a more premium service, it is also possible to hire an all-inclusive yacht with a crew. When is the best time for a boat hire in Sardinia?
With over 300 days of sunshine a year, Sardinia is the perfect place for your next boat rental. Between May and October, the temperature will be high enough for you to visit the island but also take advantage of the beautiful beaches and waters which surround it. The hottest months of the year are unsurprisingly July and August, where the temperature often exceeds 30°C, but these are also the busiest months. We highly recommend for you to visit Sardinia before or after this period, as you will be able to enjoy the island in a calmer environment.
What to do in Sardinia?
Sardinia is home to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the entire Mediterranean Sea, and no sailing trip would be complete without touring all four sides of the island. We have compiled a list of our favourite destinations in Sardinia to visit with your yacht hire.
- Begin your sailing journey on the Costa Smeralda, the “Emerald Coast”. The main resort, Porto Cervo, was built in the 1960s by Aga Khan and is very popular among international celebrities. Other beautiful places to visit include the Cala di Volpe and Porto Rotondo.
- If you sail towards the north, you will arrive in the Maddalena Archipelago, situated halfway between Sardinia and the neighbouring island of Corsica. Here, you will see some of Europe’s most beautiful beaches. Maddalena Island, in particular, will easily make you believe that you are in the Caribbean with its crystal-clear water. The capital, La Maddalena, is also worth the visit with its cobblestone streets and cute cafes.
- In the west, you can see semi-intact archaeological remains near the medieval town of Castelsardo. There are also many empty beaches nearby, which are perfect for taking a dip in the sea.
- If you wish to venture inland, we highly recommend mooring your boat in Santa Maria Navarrese on the east coast. Here, you can hike through the rural unspoiled countryside, admiring the beautiful vegetation. In the hills, you will also be rewarded with some of the island’s best views of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
