About the experience

End your day on the Aegean Sea, wrapped in golden light and the warm glow of the setting sun as Santorini’s legendary beauty unfolds in front of you. This exclusive sunset cruise offers a magical front-row seat to the island’s most iconic sights—bathed in the colors of twilight, far from the crowds and the chaos.

Departing from the peaceful Vlychada Marina in the late afternoon, you’ll sail along Santorini’s awe-inspiring coastline, gliding past the Black, Red, and White Beaches, each shaped by the island’s fiery volcanic history. Marvel at the sculpted cliffs and sea caves of Lixada, then cruise into the heart of the caldera to explore Nea Kameni (New Volcano) and Palea Kameni (Old Volcano). Stop for a swim in the naturally warm Hot Springs, where volcanic minerals create a natural spa experience surrounded by surreal landscapes. As the light begins to soften, you’ll make your way toward the quiet shores of Thirassia Island, before sailing beneath the cliffside village of Oia—just in time to witness the world-famous Santorini sunset from the water.

Please note: to ensure your safety and comfort, the exact route may vary depending on weather and sea conditions. Your captain will always adjust the itinerary to offer the best possible sunset experience.

This is more than just a sunset cruise—it’s a floating celebration of Santorini’s beauty, where nature’s most iconic show meets comfort, style, and unforgettable memories.

Itinerary

Starting location:
Vlychada marina, Santorini, Greece
Santorini – Lixada Marina: Where It All Begins
Your adventure starts at Lixada Marina, nestled along the southern coastline of Santorini. Surrounded by impressive sculpted cliffs and the sparkling Aegean Sea, this quiet departure point sets the tone for a day of discovery. As you step aboard, feel the anticipation rise—you're about to explore the most breathtaking and iconic sites the island has to offer.
Black Beach – The Volcanic Frontier
Cruise past the dramatic Black Beach, where volcanic sands meet deep blue waters. The bold contrast of dark shoreline and glittering sea offers a striking introduction to Santorini’s unique geological history.
Red Beach – Nature’s Canvas
Famous for its towering red cliffs and fiery tones, Red Beach is a stunning natural marvel. The blend of volcanic rock and clear waters makes it one of the island’s most photogenic and awe-inspiring locations.
White Beach – Hidden Gem of the Coastline
Accessible only by boat, White Beach is a peaceful retreat framed by pale cliffs and quiet waters. A perfect spot to pause, take a swim, or just enjoy the raw, untouched beauty of the coast.
Palea Kameni– The Island’s Fiery Heart
Enter the caldera to meet the Old Volcano, where it all began. Its rugged landscape, formed by ancient eruptions, tells the story of Santorini’s dramatic origins and ever-changing terrain.
Nea Kameni – Born from the Deep
Still geothermally active, the New Volcano rises from the sea like a force of nature. Its steaming terrain and deep history offer a close encounter with the volcanic power that shaped the island.
Hot Springs – Nature’s Open-Air Spa
Anchor near the Hot Springs, where warm, mineral-rich waters provide a soothing natural bath. Let go, float in comfort, and enjoy the surreal sensation of swimming between warm and cool currents beneath volcanic cliffs.
Thirassia Island – A Step Back in Time
Cross the caldera to the traditional and tranquil Thirassia Island. With its unspoiled charm and laid-back rhythm, it’s a rare opportunity to experience the authentic Cycladic lifestyle, untouched by crowds.
Oia – The Iconic View from the Sea
Conclude your cruise beneath the stunning cliffs of Oia, Santorini’s postcard-perfect village. From the sea, admire its cascading white houses and blue domes bathed in morning light—an unforgettable ending to your journey.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable day on the boat and the crew were friendly and accommodating. However, there are a few areas where I think the experience could be improved and where the listing could better manage expectations. First, we departed at around 9am when the sea was extremely choppy. For roughly the first 20 minutes, we experienced large waves and a very uncomfortable ride. As visitors unfamiliar with local conditions, it would have been helpful if the crew or boat owner had advised us that a later departure (for example, around 11am) might have provided a much smoother experience. Second, the listing stated that food was included. Since this was a 5-hour trip, we reasonably expected some form of lunch or substantial meal. Instead, we were offered fruit, which was appreciated but did not match our expectations of “food included.” As a result, we had to stop for lunch during the trip, which added more than €350 to our day’s expenses. Another surprise was the fuel charge. Fuel was not included in the booking price, and we were charged an additional €150 at the end of the trip. While this may be standard practice, I think it should be highlighted more clearly during the booking process so guests can accurately budget for the total cost. Finally, there was no real itinerary or guidance provided. We were told we could go wherever we wanted, but as first-time visitors to Santorini, we had no idea where the best swimming spots, beaches, or coves were. We were hoping for recommendations from someone with local knowledge. When we asked for suggestions, the responses were often vague, which made it difficult to know where we should spend our time. Despite these issues, we still had a lovely day on the water and enjoyed the overall experience. My feedback is intended constructively, as a few improvements in communication and expectation-setting would have made a significant difference. We initially expected the trip to cost around €702, but with lunch and fuel, the final cost ended up exceeding €1,200, which was quite a surprise.
